Philosophy of Fine Art (F)art

My expressive art is an attempt to access a space in myself that constructs my personal perceptions and concepts of reality. I've found that in my painting and illustration practice any attempts to begin a piece with intent or representative action impedes my ability and honesty. In contrast I allow intuition to guide the trail from my internal realm to the work. In doing so I often depict scenes and subjects that I don't understand. Painting is like dreaming. This stream-of-subconscious processing of tangled imagery and symbols is not meant to be comprehended but instead felt and embraced. First by me and then hopefully by YOU.
